Overview
UPC is a Singapore mechanical and electrical engineering consultancy with a large body of completed work across many building types. We were engaged to design and build its first website that presents the firm credibly to clients, partners and shareholders. We also ensured that the client’s employees can maintain the site’s content easily for years without a developer.
The Challenge
- Showcase a large project portfolio (1,000+ projects in the long term) in an interactive project map as the client desired.
- Optimisation of company logo that had not been touched since its establishing.
- Data cleaning and copy-editing for the site content.
- Creation of image assets for projects with client team.
- Position UPC alongside the architecture and engineering firms it works with, using a visual language that feels professional and contemporary.
- Give a non-technical team full control of their content, while avoiding the high annual subscription costs of typical platforms.
What We Delivered
- Brand direction for the web: colour, typography and layout system built around a bold yellow accent (#FFE943).
- Seven-page responsive website with desktop and mobile layouts.
- 53 content articles: three hero case studies and 50 project summaries.
- Filterable project portfolio by sector category, with award badge highlights.
- Interactive Singapore map with animated project locations, tooltips and sidebar.
- Motion design: scroll-triggered fade-ins, trust-metric count-ups, image hover zoom and a sticky header that morphs on scroll.
- Custom CMS (Sanity) so UPC staff can add and update projects themselves.
- SEO foundation: meta tags, page titles, sitemap, structured data and Google Search Console integration.
- Logo: UPC's lettermark edited and optimised as a set of clean SVGs for the build.
- Performance and QA: Core Web Vitals baseline pass and cross-browser testing.
